Just a brief summary, then I'll put more screen shots and maps in the next few posts.

This world started as "SUPER city" by an unknown builder in 2011. Then it became "Mega City Tokyo" by another unknown builder. Then "Mega City Tokyo EXTENDED" by DJ Asian Tech. Then I took over, about 2 years ago and have called it lots of names (mostly anime characters).

I have also added a lot of terrain from later versions of the "EXTENDED" worlds by DJ Asian Tech and from another version of Tokyo called "tokyo secret underground world v5". I also restored a lot of the missing caves by combining blocks with older descendants of the ancestor of "SUPER city".

Map in normal colour (aerial photo):

GxJ2kyz.jpg

Map showing structure (colour-coded: blue = underground caves, green = natural overhangs, red = tunnels or buildings with a roof, yellow is anything on the surface like snow or roads; purple, orange, yellow and white are combinations of the other colours.)

0hm5AEa.jpg

You'll really need these maps to find your way around. Hint: learn to tell which way is north: If you place a white block on the ground, the south side is the brightest side.

Keio University. DJ Asian Tech did the buildings; I added the solar panels and the entire athletic fields.

This photo was taken in Eden 1.7, the flower blocks seen here are now plain grass.

Title sign, made from bedrock. These are the names of three of the world's creators, but there are at least two others. I invented the name "リハスロ" (rihasuro) for the unknown original builder of "SUPER city".

Xgf2Czn.png

To get to this place, Warp Home, then drop straight down to the hub of the 20 ice-slides, then take the ice-slide that has a grass block above it.

My tribute to "The Hidden Galaxy" is part of Tokyo. There are 4 miniature biomes each resembling part of Hidden Galaxy, linked by a miniature version of the red-green-blue-white underground ice slides just like in Hidden Galaxy.

wLpu2qG.png

To get to this area, Warp Home, drop down the dark blue water trap-door, then go back up the same water, which will lift you up just a few blocks, then you're at the level of DJ Asian Tech's hidden biomes corridors. Then just walk around a bit. You'll also find a Totoro house (also by me) and a bunch of biomes by DJ Asian Tech (including a tribute to "Metropolis 2150").

This is a view of some of the complexity found underground below the Warp-Home location.

S1lNrv7.png

I made it using the old glitch (in Eden 1.7) where you can dig a hole, fill it with wood, set on fire, walk away really fast and walk back, then drop down into the hole. There are three separate levels of tunnels and corridors criss-crossing, probably kind of hard to see but it was fun making the panorama  :D

A view of the area near warp-home spot. Where that red circle is, I changed it to the He For She logo.

BRH0Xoj.png

I built the cuboctahedron building (blue geometric thing top-center) and added the solar panels, part of a shopping mall above the casino and a ton of smaller changes like cutting through barriers to make everything walkable. But most of the actual buildings are from DJ Asian Tech.

I already posted this in one of the beta test threads, but I think it's really cool.

GD1qb7L.png

Dj Asian Tech made the building, but I rebuilt it to be more realistic Japanese architecture. I also added a couple pagodas elsewhere and renovated several more.

All of the pagodas in the entire Tokyo world are linked by their own private ice-slides that form a continuous loop. Near each pagoda at ground level you'll find a stone block with a wood wedge block on top of it, and a 1x1 block of blue water, which is a vertical tunnel. Go down the blue water and you'll be in a small cave that's 6 blocks above bedrock level. Take the ice-slide in one direction or the other (light gray or dark gray) and you can loop through all the other Japanese style buildings. There are 14 "stops" on the pagoda loop.

One more view.

RLQ4rN2.png

There were some tall, thin buildings here from the early builder, but I really didn't like them, (sorry if you're out there reading this). I recreated the tops of those buildings with a much more reasonable height and added the cliff-face with steps cut into it.

To get to this spot, Warp Home, then drop straight down through the dark-blue water trap door. Now there are 24 choices, take the one that has yellow sand above it. That brings you to the basement of the National Diet building. You have three more directions to choose from now, just try all of them, you'll find it. One of them takes you to the inside of the pyramid that I was standing on when I took this photo.

There are natural caves behind the cliff-face in this photo, which I restored by extracting the caves (and only the caves) from another world called "best world EVER" which was another "descendant" of the original world from which "SUPER city" was derived. "best world EVER" is from 2011 and also had a Greek temple which I kept and (of course) heavily renovated.

Older thread in this forum about this world:

http://forum.edengam...-tokyo-unified/

Most of the names of the older versions of my world are here:

http://mrob.com/pub/...den-worlds.html

My blog on the Eden wikia has a lot of articles about Tokyo:

http://edenworldbuil...ser_blog:Mrob27

which includes comments from DJ Asian Tech during the period when we were both still working on our own separate versions of the world. I later combined most of the new creations of DJ Asian Tech into my own world which is why I called it "Unified".

Cool, thx for the likes  :D Every time I upload a world I make up a random 8-digit number so thats what the 39139122 means, and then you can search for that number and you don't get a lot of old worlds in the results, just pick the earliest upload (bottom of the list) and that's the original version without any griefing or vandalism.

And the '42 at the end means it's the 42nd version of Tokyo that I've uploaded to eden.

This is so impressive!  Nice touch with the bit of custom color on the topo map :)  I think this world is as big as an actual city!

The whole map is 4000 blocks east-to-west and 1900 north-to-south. The actual city part is about 1000x1000. If a block is 1 meter then I guess that'd be a small city... real small  :P but is also has about 1 square kilometers worth of underground caves from 2011 which is kind of cool.

Wow... Some math:
Hay ~250 blocks from 1 end of a chunk to the other end
-That's 750 feet
-Times 4 to get 1,000 blocks = 3,000 feet
-That's just over half a mile
Are you sure? It can't be THAT small! 8O
Also,
-While running & jumping, you can pass a max of ~3 blocks a second, or 9 feet
-540 feet a minute = 32,400 feet an hour, which is ~6 miles an hour
-While sliding, you can reach speeds of 125 blocks per second, which is 375 feet/sec
-That =~22,000/minute, which is ~1.3 million/hour
-That's literally over 270mph, which is basically maximum speed in the entire game possible to achieve

Those numbers are pretty cool.

I think worlds in videogames always seem bigger than they would be if you measured them.

(Update: Using a straight track with two portals 100 blocks apart, the maximum speed seems to be (61*100) blocks per minute, which works out to 366000 blocks per hour. If a block is 1 meter, then that's 366 kph or 227.3 mph. Veeerrry close to your numbers, @EdenROCK3T!)

Holy... Owo
270 Mph?
these are...
100 Mph = 160 Kmh
200 Mph = 320 Kmh
250 Mph = 400 Kmh
270 Mph = 432 Kmh

wow... 432 Kmh thats damn fast x3

The best way to go really really fast is to just build a circular track, and leave it running for a long time.

I have several test tracks in my world:

Tokyo Unified Asukura'39139122'42

Warp home, drop down through the blue water. You'll find a room with 20 ice-slide exits. Take the one with the red stone block above it. At the end of the slide go up (light blue water). Go inside the building. There is a blue circular track at the back of the room, get on it and just let it slide for 10 minutes or 1/2 hour or as long as your patience lasts.

There are a few more (and longer) test tracks if you take the elevator down.

(Update: The circular track test made Eden crash. iPad 2, iOS 5.0.0. I built a straight track with two portals, it did not crash, but after a while the screen was solid colour because of the constant portal-teleporting effect. I'll make a longer straight track.

Also, if you do this you'll notice that the portal slows you down if you exit heading south, but not if heading north. East slows down, west speeds up.)

Here is the image Ari took for the App Store sample screens:

12QE37P.png

The photo was taken from in front of Totoro's nose, near the warp-home spot. If you build a ladder in front of the Totoro sign, like the pink ladder in this picture:

UaiJ2bq.png

Then stand on the top of the ladder, you'll see the same scene as in the App store photo. In normal light, the scene looks like this:

r5xzTjU.png

Ari took out the purple space invader (which was originally lava) and added lights in a couple places I didn't.
